Kindness Matters
At Stress Matters we strongly believe in the benefits of being kind and showing empathy to both yourself and colleagues. Understanding that you don't always know what someone is going through
Kindness
An attitude of kindness is an underrated and powerful force. A single act of kindness can create an unforgettable experience that in an instant can affect how clients and colleagues view or treat you in the future. Not only this, but kindness has been shown to have a knock-on effect that passes that intention onto others. It strengthens connections so that everyone benefits from the enhanced relationships and productivity that stems from it
Kindness and Mental Health
For Mental Health Awareness Week 2020 the theme was kindness, in relation to the coronavirus outbreak. Kindness unlocks our shared humanity and is vital for our mental health. Providing the potential to bring us together with benefits for everyone, particularly during times of great stress. Research clearly supports this, showing that an act of kindness can improve emotional wellbeing. This is true whether we are giving or receiving it
Kindness and Wellbeing
There are 4 elements of wellbeing which go hand in hand; mental, physical, emotional and spiritual. Research shows that positive activities boost positive emotions, thoughts and behaviour which all have a beneficial effect on wellbeing. The good feeling that comes with acts of kindness are triggered by the ‘feel good’ hormones which are responsible for feelings of satisfaction and happiness. In the longer term, it is thought to be protective against conditions, such as depression
